Customer Reviews

Bob and Jane | Mosaic at West Creek

"After many failed attempts with local box stores to purchase a barn door, we found RVA Barn Doors online and we are so happy we did. Scott not only matched the door design to our existing doors he matched the color to our kitchen island perfectly. The whole process was painless with him communicating the status along the way. The installation was quick and we couldn't be happier. A great addition to our new home in Richmond!! We love it! "

"I wanted to let you know how delighted we are with our new bathroom door. The renovations to the bathroom took months of planning from the tile work to the vanities , but if I had to choose, I'd have to say that it is your beautifully crafted door that I am the most pleased with! The beautiful wood grain, the rich stain, and the light filtering frosted plexiglass, combine for the most artful yet functional door. Thank you so much for our "RVA Barn Doors"!"

Diane V. | Rockville

"Our barn door that Scott built from scratch is a total showstopper! It is also a very large double door barn door, almost couldn't get it though the double doors into the house! We get nothing but complements on it's pure beauty, workmanship and rich dark color. He also helped us pick the color. Scott is a joy to work with and loves his craft. We highly recommend him."

Larry C. | Rockville

"We had a specific door in mind with a particular color scheme. Scott provided his expertise to refine our original thoughts to create a better barn door that really looks like a piece of art. We're extremely pleased with our barn door and thoroughly enjoyed Scott and the process. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a unique addition to their house."

"We love our custom barn door that Scott with RVA Barn Doors designed for us! We met with Scott at his shop and he was very patient as we asked a ton of questions and after our meeting and viewing his product there was no doubt in our minds who we would choose to build our barn door. About Us

After getting my business degree from U of R in 1980, I got the idea to make a better version of "This End Up furniture", they were booming. So I started "Against The Grain Casual Furniture". I loved the idea of making furniture and it was a dream. Sales were good but eventually dwindled to the point where it was time to stop. Then I discovered the personal computer. So I started another company and was off again for the next 20 some years building, installing and teaching computer accounting systems. Then moved into programming for hospitals and various specialty companies. Time flies. I'm 67 now. But I always wanted to get back to my passion, making furniture! While recovering from surgery I researched "sliding doors" to figure out how to fix my pocket doors. Wow, what a discovery, "Barn Doors" were it. I started digging the foundation the day the doctor said it was OK. Thanks to my customers who made all of this possible!
